Manage solar-to-battery charging with the Renogy Rover 60A MPPT Solar Charge Controller. Designed for compatible off-grid battery systems, it combines maximum power point tracking, system monitoring and selectable load-control modes.
At an RV campsite or off-grid installation, use the controller to regulate solar energy flowing into your battery bank and check system performance. Choose the controller-only option or add the Bluetooth module and Renogy ONE Core monitoring bundle.
Choose Your Bundle
- Controller only: The option is labeled with RS485/RS232 communication ports.
- Bluetooth module & Renogy ONE Core bundle: Adds the monitoring equipment named in the selected option. These accessories are not standard inclusions with the controller-only option.
The source lists BT-1/BT-2 compatibility and illustrates a BT-1 as optional. Confirm the exact included module and its matching communication port for the supplied controller revision. Bluetooth does not by itself establish internet access or unlimited-range monitoring.
Key Features
- 60A rated charging current: This is the battery charging rating, not a blanket allowance for 60A of solar-array input current.
- MPPT charging: Tracks the solar array's maximum power point as conditions change. Source-listed tracking efficiency is 99% and peak conversion efficiency is 98%; actual performance varies.
- Battery system support: The detailed table lists 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V automatic recognition for non-lithium batteries. A summary mentions only 12V/24V, so confirm supported voltages for the supplied revision. Configure lithium voltage and charging parameters manually as directed by the manual.
- Charging profiles: The source describes four-stage charging. Select settings appropriate to the battery chemistry; not every stage is suitable for every battery.
- Load controls: Auto-on/off, timer, manual, test and always-on modes are listed.
- Lithium activation: A small activation current may wake a compatible battery from BMS protection. It does not repair damaged or failed batteries.
- Thermal design: Insulated casing, a die-cast aluminum heat sink and an included remote temperature sensor.
- Electronic protections: The source describes eight protection functions that monitor electrical conditions. Correct wiring and external overcurrent protection remain necessary.
Source-Listed Specifications

Important Specification Conflicts
The original FAQ states 150V PV input, while the detailed table states 140V. Another headline claims up to 6400W at 48V, while the table lists 3200W. Do not design an array around the higher figures without matching manufacturer documentation. Verify the actual controller label and model-specific manual before installation; the table values above are retained as source-listed data, not independently verified limits.
The temperature-sensor marketing copy mentions -40°F to 149°F, which differs from the controller's listed operating range. A sensor does not make a battery safe to charge outside its own permitted temperature range or establish low-temperature charging protection for every lithium battery.
Array & Load Planning
Panels may be connected in series, parallel or a suitable combination, provided the complete array remains within the verified voltage, current and power limits. Account for cold-weather open-circuit voltage rise. The 60A charging rating must not be used as the PV short-circuit-current limit.
The load terminals have a separate 20A rating. Do not treat them as a 60A inverter supply. Follow the manual for permitted DC loads, motor-starting requirements, battery connection sequence and inverter connection to an appropriately protected battery circuit.
Base Package Contents
- 1 × Rover 60A MPPT solar charge controller
- 1 × remote temperature sensor
- 4 × mounting brackets
- 1 × user manual, as listed in the feature copy
Bluetooth module and Renogy ONE Core inclusion depends on the selected bundle.
Warranty Note
The original table lists a three-year material and workmanship warranty in a row labeled “Accessories.” Confirm its applicability to the controller and each bundle component under the manufacturer terms.
