Bring solar charging to your campsite, RV or cabin with the Renogy 200W 12V Solar Suitcase with 20A Voyager Charge Controller. Two 100W monocrystalline panels fold into a portable suitcase, with adjustable kickstands to help you position them in sunlight and a protective canvas case for transport.
Park where you want to stay, set the suitcase in a sunny spot and connect it to a compatible 12V battery using the included controller and alligator-clip cable. Follow the manual's connection sequence and select the correct battery settings before charging.
Key Features
- 200W total rated panel power: Two 100W Grade A+ monocrystalline panels in a foldable suitcase.
- 20A Voyager PWM controller: Included charge control for compatible 12V batteries, with multiple protective functions and a listed waterproof design.
- Adjustable kickstands: Reposition the panels as sunlight changes without permanently mounting them.
- Portable setup: Includes a 9.9 ft tray cable with alligator clips and a rugged canvas protective case.
- Bypass diodes: Help limit shading-related power losses and hotspot effects. Shading can still substantially reduce output.
Package Includes
- 1 × 200W foldable solar suitcase, comprising two 100W monocrystalline panels
- 1 × 20A Voyager PWM charge controller
- 1 × 9.9 ft tray cable with alligator clips
- 1 × protective canvas case
A battery and inverter are not listed in the package contents.
Solar Suitcase Specifications
- Maximum power at standard test conditions: 200W
- Listed cell efficiency: 22%
- Optimum operating voltage (Vmp): 18.5V
- Open-circuit voltage (Voc): 21.8V
- Listed optimum operating current (Imp): 10.5A
- Short-circuit current (Isc): 11.7A
- Panel operating temperature: -40°F to 185°F
- Maximum series fuse rating: 20A
- Listed panel maximum system voltage: 600V DC (UL); this is not the controller's input limit
- Listed suitcase dimensions: 35.6 × 25.9 × 3.1 in
- Listed suitcase weight: 35.9 lb
The supplied 18.5V operating voltage and 10.5A operating current multiply to approximately 194W rather than 200W. These values are retained as listed; confirm model-specific ratings on the panel label or datasheet when designing your system. The source's “Maximum AWG Size Range (MC4): 32A” entry mixes a wire-size label with a current value and is not used here as a wiring specification.
20A Voyager Controller Specifications
- Nominal battery-system voltage: 12V DC
- Rated charge current: 20A
- Maximum PV input voltage: 26V DC
- Controller type: PWM
- Self-consumption: ≤8mA
- Grounding: Common negative
- Operating temperature: -40°F to 140°F
- Dimensions: 6.38 × 3.82 × 1.34 in
- Weight: 0.88 lb
Battery Compatibility
The supplied Voyager information lists Gel, AGM, flooded and compatible lithium batteries, plus a lithium activation feature. Select the correct battery profile and confirm charging parameters against your battery's requirements. For lithium batteries, manually set the system voltage as instructed in the controller manual.
Solar Output & Expansion
The source estimates an ideal 1kWh per day from 200W multiplied by five hours of equivalent full sunlight, before system losses. This is not guaranteed daily production or stored battery energy. Clouds, shading, temperature, panel angle and PWM charging losses affect real-world results.
Additional panels require a fresh check of controller voltage, current and power limits. Do not assume a second suitcase can be added to the included Voyager without changes. In particular, keep array open-circuit voltage within its 26V PV input limit, allowing for cold-weather voltage rise.
Use correctly sized, compatible extension cables. Longer runs increase voltage drop and may require heavier-gauge cable. Follow the manual for cable sizing and circuit protection.
Can It Power 120V Appliances Directly?
No. This kit charges a compatible battery. Supplying 120V AC requires a suitable battery and inverter, sized for the intended loads and purchased separately.
Listed Warranty
The supplied panel information lists a three-year material and workmanship warranty and output warranties of 95% at five years, 90% at ten years and 80% at twenty-five years, subject to manufacturer terms. These panel terms do not establish the separate controller warranty.
