Planning Your RV Solar System
What else is needed?
A compatible deep-cycle battery is required to store energy and is not included in the kit contents listed above. The included adaptor cables connect the panels to the charge controller, and the tray cables connect the controller to the battery. Size the battery bank and connected loads for your intended use.
Will it power my RV without a hookup?
This is a solar battery-charging kit, not a complete household AC power system. Available runtime depends on sunlight, battery capacity and your equipment's power requirements. Solar charging operates quietly without a gas generator.
Why can output vary?
Indirect sunlight, shade, high temperatures, clouds and dirt on the glass can reduce solar output. Rated panel wattage is not a guarantee of continuous output.
How should the panels be connected?
Series connections increase voltage; parallel connections increase current. Follow the panel and controller installation instructions, keeping the completed array within the controller's voltage, current and power limits.
